At the core of the new Triton is the combination of a refined and super-responsive 2.4L DOHC MIVEC engine and Mitsubishi’s unique Super Select II 4WD system. An aluminium cylinder block, and strong yet lightweight materials reducing weight, and with a compression ratio of 15.5:1, it’s among the quietest and most efficient diesel engines on the market, contributing to better torque and speed power across the entire rev range.
Peak power is 133kW at 3500rpm, while torque is an impressive 430Nm at 2500rpm across both manual and automatic transmission models. The lightweight engine achieves low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, while also delivering outstanding power and performance.
PERFORMANCE & 4WD
SUPER SELECT II 4WD
With the option of Full-time 4WD, High and Low Range with centre diff lock and selectable 2WD, the Super Select 4WD II system on the Mitsubishi Triton will give you more control in bad weather or on difficult surfaces.
2H – 2WD HIGH RANGE
2H (2WD High Range) is best used for normal road conditions and for fuel efficiency.
4HLC – 4WD HIGH RANGE WITH LOCKED CENTRE DIFFERENTIAL
4HLC (4WD High Range with locked centre differential) is used when driving on rugged terrain with low-grip surfaces.
4LLC – 4WD LOW RANGE WITH LOCKED CENTRE DIFFERENTIAL
4LLC (4WD Low range with locked centre differential) provides maximum traction for steep hills, sand and deep snow.

ELECTRONIC OFF-ROAD ASSISTANCE
Improve traction when driving off road by selecting between the Gravel, Mud/Snow, Sand or Rock settings. Simply press the Electronic Off-road Assistance selector until the appropriate mode appears in the multi- information display. Engine output, transmission settings and braking adjust accordingly to optimise performance.
HILL DESCENT CONTROL (HDC)
Pressing the HDC mode selector activates the HDC, which automatically applies the brakes to maintain your current speed when traveling downhill. This lets you concentrate on steering and travel downhill with greater safety without having to manually apply the brakes. On vehicles with automatic transmission, HDC can be activated at 2 – 20km/h. On vehicles with manual transmission, HDC can be activated in 1st gear at 3 – 20km/h.
